To bring their 2010/11 concert season to a close, Oregon Symphony presents a special concert with a program planned specifically to highlight the exceptional talent of the Symphony's own musicians. Carlos Kalmar conducts the concert which includes works from Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Bartok and more.

Carlos Kalmar is a Uruguayan conductor. He began violin studies at age six. At age fifteen, he enrolled at the Vienna Academy of Music where his conducting teacher was Karl Österreicher. In 1984, he won first prize in the Hans Swarowsky Conducting Competition in Vienna.
