Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Alfred Uhry with music by Jason Robert Brown, Parade is based on the true life story of factory foreman Leo Frank who was convicted for the rape and murder of 13 year old factory worker, Mary Phagan. Set in 1913 Atlanta, the story is part murder mystery, part social commentary. Parade, directed at Kentwood Players by Ben Lupejkis, won the 1999 Tony Award for best book and best score of a musical.
